James Murray on Gmtv
Partial synopsis of the interview supplied by Rowena.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He talked about having just got married and that he was just back from honeymoon in East Africa. As for the new series(Primeval, season two) he said his relationship with the rest of the team has changed as a result of his thing with Helen. He said he's "ostracised and kept in the back of the gang". They showed a brief clip from the new series and he had a little play with the Stephen doll which he hadn't seen before.
According to James' interview in Entertainment Today, the worms are from the Precambrian era. This was the time before 'The Cambrian Explosion' when life spread out. Back then, life was slow-moving. Unsurprisingly, worms were successful.
He mentioned his new film 'It's Alive' is due out in the next few weeks and that he'll be doing promo for that and that was about it.
He looked very casual and relaxed. His hair is a bit longer and lighter than in the series and he had a ginger moustache and beard !

Transcript by Rowena
(follows a clip of Sarah Parish and James Murray in a scene from S4 of Cutting It-BBC)
JF: Sarah Parish’s other half joins me now. Good Morning James Murray.
JM: Good Morning.
JF: How are you?
JM: Very well thank you.
JF: I can’t believe that’s your wife now.
JM: That is, yeah, that is my wife.
JF: Congratulations.
JM: Sarah Murray.
JF: Sarah Murray now, is she changing her name when she acts?
JM: Ah, I don’t think so, I think she’ll probably keep Sarah Parish but she’s, yeah she’s made an honest man out of me and she’s now Sarah Murray.
JF: Fantastic and it was just before Christmas was it?
JM: Yeah.
JF: And you’ve just come back from honeymoon hence the tan?
JM: Yes, just back from East Africa the day before yesterday.
JF: Fantastic, was it a great day, a brilliant day?
JM: It was an amazing day but it just flies by too quickly and you kind of get so caught up in the moment you forget about what’s actually going on so it’s good to have pictures.
JF: Yeah, I can imagine.
JF: So you get back and then Sarah’s on TV and you’re coming back on TV so it all starts up again.
JM: Yeah, it does, it’s back on the treadmill straight away.
JF: So this is the second series of Primeval, first series went down a storm.
JM: It did.
JF: OK, but the end of the first series, I mean your character was in a bit of trouble because we’d just found out that he’d been having an affair.
JM: Yeah.
JF: With Cutter’s wife.
JM: Yeah.
JF: So how does this affect your relationship in this series?
JM: Not very well. Erm…., he’s a….., Stephen is ahm…., as a result of the affair there’s a lott of…, there’s a trust issue and he’s ostracised and he’s kind of kept in the background of the gang for obvious reasons and it affects the dynamic of how they all work together and it kind of manifests itself through the series, ahm…, and yeah, it’s not ideal is it?
JF: It all kicks off.
JM: It’s not ideal.
JF: It’s not ideal but I mean one thing that hasn’t changed is that there’s still loads of monsters.
JM: There are more monsters, better monsters.
JF: You’ve got raptors this week and next week you’ve got a giant worm.
JM: Loads of giant worms if I remember.
JF: I’d hate that.
JM: Yeah, it’s worms in smoke, but it’s like a smoke that’s come from the pre-Cambrian era that’s full of killer worms.
JF: That just sounds disgusting but I tell you what before the killer worms let’s have a look at this weekend’s monsters.

JF: You see, if you think Stephen’s handsome and you want to play with him personally, you can, there we go, and I’ve got to say this is the doll that’s just been released of you. Did you give everyone one of these for Christmas?
JM: No, because it’s the first time I’ve seen it but I wish I’d had it for Christmas it would have made a great stocking filler.
JF: I tell you what James, you’re very flexible.
JM: Very articulated.
JF: Yeah.
JM: I know.
JF: It is amazing.
JM: I’ve been limbering up.
JF: You do know you’ve made it when you’ve got a doll of yourself though don’t you?
JM: You do, and, he’s, look at him, wow, he can do all sorts of things.
JF: If only he looked like you.
JM: Yeah, if only he looked like me, yeah, rather than Ken.
JF: That looks good though.
JM: Yeah, it’s great, it’s great.
JF: Fantastic, so what’s up after Primeval now and, I mean obviously the series has finished filming, so you’re back from your honeymoon.
JM: I’m back from the honeymoon and erm…, and I did a film last year which is a remake of the classic 1970s horror ‘It’s Alive’.
JF: Right.
JM: Which I know you know all about.
JF: Oh yeah, very well.(Jenni pulls a horrendous face - she knows nothing about the movie)
JM: And I think that’s coming out in the next couple of weeks so we’re kind of promoting that and getting on with that, yeah.
JF: Fantastic, but in the meantime just enjoying married life. So far, so good.
JM: Yeah, erm…, I’ve only been married two minutes but it’s been a good two minutes.
JF: OK, well look, thank you, thank you for coming in, good luck with the series. It’s on this weekend this Saturday night.
JM: Yeah, tomorrow, 7 o’clock, ITV.
JF: Fantastic, alright, well look nice to see you and say hi to Sarah. Tell her congratulations.
JM: I will.
JF: She’ll probably be watching. Congratulations Sarah to you as well.
JF: OK, while James grapples with this, this little toy here, we’re going to take another break.
