I received hundreds off a locked post for submittal! I pared them down to a rather large group of 45, and James Murray was gracious enough to answer virtually all of them. No question meeting the guidelines was omitted from the initial presentation, but I did combine some and reword others that were repetitive into one question. And huge thanks to [info]kristen_mara for encouragement & support when things looked discouraging at one point. Third: James Murray had a very busy schedule but took time out to answer our questions. A hot air balloon ride can be full of unexpected discoveries. But when TV actress Sarah Parish and husband Jim Murray went on their balloon flight with Adventure Balloons recently there was a really big surprise. Also on the flight was the surgeon who had delivered Sarah and Jim's daughter Nell! As Sarah and Jim are patrons of the Southampton Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, once everyone had returned to earth and the chance meeting unfolded they decided with Adventure Balloons pilot Kim Hull that a balloon flight for two would be a great raffle prize for the next charity event for the unit in July.
"As we see the happy birthday balloon flying over our house in Hampshire it was easy to decide what to get Sarah for her birthday" said "Primeval" actor Jim. "The e-mailable voucher made it very easy as I had left getting the birthday present all a bit last minute. But with the cancellations due to weather she is nearly a year older now! We had our doubts on the day as there were showers about but Kim and I checked the weather radar on my I phone and we agreed there was a window in which to get the flight away".
"I have flown on a balloon flight before in Morocco where it was much warmer but very brown looking" said Sarah. "You forget how green England is, especially after the much needed rain that came in early June. The whole trip was fabulous and I had great fun with the other passengers getting the balloon away in the bag while Jim was sent off with a radio to check out the route in to the landing site for the balloon recovery vehicle. We got a little wet while a small shower provided an interlude before the champagne was served but even that could not spoil it".
One of the perks of the job, it has to be said, is when we get to fly famous actors and actresses in one of our hot air balloons. Here at Adventure Balloons our reputation for excellent safety and customer service is so great that even celebrities choose us as their first choice. But what a wonderful surprise it was when actress Sarah Parish, the lead actress from the recent series Monroe along with various other roles, plus her husband Jim Murray famous for his role in Primeval and various other TV series chose to come aboard at Adventure Balloons. Another addition to the flight was the couples surgeon who had delivered Sarah and Jim’s daughter Nell.
As it turns out the couple are patrons of the Southampton Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and after much discussion with our team and Pilot Kim Hull, it was decided that a balloon ride with Adventure Balloons would be a fantastic raffle prize for the next charity event for the hospitals unit in July. The lovely Jim had booked the flight with us for Sarah’s birthday. He said how they see our birthday balloon flying over their house in Hampshire and so choose a hot air balloon ride for Sarah’s birthday seemed like the obvious thing to do. Extremely happy with how easy it was to book, Jim told us how he booked an e-mailable voucher online. It was a fight against the weather but eventually there was a window of balloon perfect weather conditions and so the flight went ahead.
Sarah had flown before in Morocco and was pleasantly surprised at how luscious and green England was in comparison. A small rain shower wasn’t about to spoil their day and it was rounded off with a lovely glass of bubbly. Perfect…

Save Southhampton Cardiac Unit Rally May 24th
Public rally and consultation meetings
Sarah Parish and James Murray joined the hundreds of campaigners who flocked to Guildhall Square to voice their opinions during the public rally and consultation meetings. More than 600 people listened to the panel’s responses, which included comments from the Government’s heart tsar that described Southampton as a “class act”.

From November, Murray is filming a series for CBS TV in Vancouver, Chaos. So after wrapping up her ITV duties in December, Parish will join him.

Luckily, we have five years before Nell goes to school - which will be in England. We are certain about that.

'CHAOS' OUTLOOK MUCH LESS CHAOTIC -- Brett Ratner show picked up by CBS

The Brett Ratner ("Prison Break") and Tom Spezialy ("Desperate Housewives") project "Chaos" has been finally picked up by CBS with a midseason order, reports Variety.
Three weeks ago things looked a bit ... well ... chaotic for the CIA drama, as CBS and 20th TV could not come to an agreement after weeks of negotiations. The actors' options were all let to expire on June 30. But it looks like a deal has been struck, including negotiations with all the actors involved.
Freddy Rodriguez ("Six Feet Under"), Eric Close ("Without a Trace"), James Murray (the British star of "Primeval"), Tim Blake Nelson ("Syriana," "Minority Report") and Carmen Ejogo ("Kidnapped") were all in the Ratner-directed pilot and will be returning for the show. "Chaos" joins the "Criminal Minds" spinoff, "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior" as a CBS midseason replacement.

Southdown at Classic Car Fund Raising - July 5, 2010
Southdown’s latest shepherd’s hut made an appearance alongside an impressive array of classic cars, at a fundraising event organised by the Alton Rotary Club at Oakhanger, Hampshire. The attendance of well-known husband and wife actors, James Murray and Sarah Parish as well as fellow actor Oliver Tobias, gave a considerable boost to the raising of funds in aid of the Clic Sargent Charity and PICU ( the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Southampton General Hospital).
Positioned against an appropriate backdrop of rolling fields, the shepherd’s hut attracted interest from owners and afficionados of classic cars as they enjoyed a hog roast, jazz band and the evening sun. It proved to be a particular attraction for the children, who were keen to climb the steps and explore the interior, curious to see what this unusual hideaway had to offer.

The NEW County Room hosted Headway's Annual Ball

This year's theme was 'Mad Hatters Party' in aid of Headway Somerset, the local brain injury association. The event took place in the recently redeveloped County Room at the County Ground on Saturday 15th May and was a huge success with a Mad Hatters cocktail, a two course meal, live music, dancing and a charity auction with the lucky winners taking away a Somerset CCC signed cricket bat and lots more. BBC Somerset presenter Emma Britton judged the Maddest hat and the winner was presented with a bottle of champagne. Patron of the charity Sarah Parish also attended the event with her husband James Murray.

Family Affair February 28th
Award-winning British actress Sarah Parish has confirmed to Sunday News in a world exclusive that she and actor husband James Murray have welcomed a happy, healthy baby daughter. The couple have named the little girl Nell, Parish said from the family home in Hampshire, England. The baby was born six weeks early on November 21. “She’s great, she’s doing really well, she’s downstairs kicking up a fuss at the moment.” Parish says the next five or six weeks are her “mummy-time” before filming of the third and final series of Mistresses starts in April. Parish said she and Murray chose not to talk to the press about Nell until now, because of the media attention they received when their first child, Ella-Jayne, died last January. CHAOS (CBS) - James Murray ("Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire") has joined the cast of the drama pilot, about "a group of rogue CIA operatives combating bureaucratic gridlock, rampant incompetence and political infighting." He'll play Billy Collins, "a gregarious, hard living, charmer committed to nourishing his inner-devil over his inner-child" who used to work for the British Secret Service. Freddy Rodriguez also stars in the Tom Spezialy-penned hour, which comes from 20th Century Fox Television. Brett Ratner is directing.

In honour & rememberance of E-J, we are soon embarking on a sponsored 2-day trek through the Vietnamese hill tribes of the Sapa Valley.... (I know!)
All monies raised will go directly to Friends of PICU- the charity which we are Patrons of, in an atempt to raise funds for a Psychologist. This much needed new facility will support parents , siblings and families who like us have or have had a child in PICU. A very stressful time for everyone concerned so therefore an invaluable addition to the service they provide. This is going to be a pioneering service and the charity is aiming to fund it for the first 3 years(£100,000), hopefully proving to the NHS how important it is, so they will agree to fund it, and many others, in the future.
Sarah Parish has been left devastated by the death of her eight-month-old daughter Ella-Jayne.
The Mistresses actress, 40, who is married to James Murray, 33, gave birth 5 weeks early by emergency Caesarean in May.
Ella-Jayne had life-saving surgery to correct a heart defect said to be brought on by a rare condition called Rubeinstein-Taybi syndrome.
Ella-Jayne lost her battle for life after being born with a hole in her heart.
She was rushed to intensive care again for a further op in the summer.
Sarah and James were made aware of the condition while Sarah, 40, was still pregnant, and Ella-Jayne — affectionately dubbed ‘E-J’ by her parents — was ultimately born five weeks premature via emergency C-Section. The delivery was later described as “traumatic” by James, for Ella-Jayne was immediately whisked off for her first of two surgeries to repair the condition, consisting of a hole in her heart. Despite the scary circumstances of her birth, in an interview last summer James, 33, credited his daughter for giving the couple a newfound “perspective on what’s important in life.” He went on to add,
“You can never plan anything in life, and never take anything for granted.”
Ella-Jayne died at her parents’ Hampshire, England, home last week (14th January). The couple are said to be ”devastated” by the loss, according to a statement from Sarah’s spokeswoman, who adds “it’s been very hard for them both.”
Ella-Jayne is their first child.

FRIENDS OF PICU CHARITY DINNER
The Friends of PICU held their inaugural charity ball at the Botliegh Grange Hotel on the 19th of July. The evening was a great success the diners were treated to a classical harpist whilst they dined and then sang and danced the night away with Andy McKellar’s rock and roll performance. A raffle and an auction were also held including items such as signed football and cricket shirt and TV memorabilia donated by our patrons Sarah Parish and James Murray. Everyone had a great time and over £1100 was raised. This money will be used to help buy a Sonisite machine which detects blood vessels for cannula insertion for the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Southampton General Hospital. Friends of Picu link.

The Church, St.John the Evangelist, is a splendid example of 19th Century Gothic Revival, in the village of Northington, Hampshire. They also held the memorial service for their baby daughter, Ella Jayne, here on the 24/1/09.

TV ACTRESS'S BIG DAY
13th December 2007, Western Gazette.
Family and friends are due to attend the wedding of Yeovil-born actress Sarah Parish this Saturday(15th). Miss Parish, aged 39, will be marrying fellow actor James Murray at a local church(St.John the Evangelist)near their family home in Lower Wield, Hampshire, before hosting a reception in their garden.
She is best known for her role as Allie in the ITV series Cutting It, and the couple met on the set when Mr Murray starred in the final series.
Since then, the Preston Community School and Yeovil College student has appeared in many one-off dramas, programmes and films including Dr Who and The Holiday.
Celebrity guests will include Dr Who actor David Tennant and best friend Amanda Holden, but her mother and father Thelma and Bill Parish of Thorne Lane, Yeovil, say she has not let fame take over.
Mrs Parish said: "I am looking forward to the big day and am proud of her, as I am of all my children. She isn't at all like a celebrity, she is just Sarah and very normal. She has been very busy and done all of the organising herself."
Miss Parish has not lived in Yeovil for around 20 years, but regularly visits the town in her capacity as Headway patron and attended the group's Christmas bazaar.
The television drama "Cutting It" may have been cut from the BBC lineup at the end of the 2005 season, but memories of the series will lovingly live on in the hearts of two of the program's co-stars, whose on-set romance has led to a promise of a lifetime together.British newspaper The Mirror reports that Sarah Parish, best known to fans of the show as hair salon proprietor Allie Henshall, has accepted the proposal of actor James Murray, her love of the past two years, and the two are currently making plans for a 2008 wedding.In celebration of her newly betrothed status, the bride-to-be invited her on-screen sisters, Angela Griffin and Sian Reeves, and fellow "Cutting It" cast member Amanda Holden on September 5, 2007 to the Boxwood Cafe, an elite eatery inside The Berkeley Hotel in the Knightsbridge area of London.

Event: sarah & james's trek
In honour & rememberance of E-J, we are soon embarking on a sponsored 2-day trek through the Vietnamese hill tribes of the Sapa Valley.... (I know!)
All monies raised will go directly to Friends of PICU- the charity which we are Patrons of, in an atempt to raise funds for a Psychologist. This much needed new facility will support parents , siblings and families who like us have or have had a child in PICU. A very stressful time for everyone concerned so therefore an invaluable addition to the service they provide. This is going to be a pioneering service and the charity is aiming to fund it for the first 3 years(£100,000), hopefully proving to the NHS how important it is, so they will agree to fund it, and many others, in the future.
